Gaslight Cafe
114 MacDougal Street between Bleecker and West 3rd Streets
New York, NY

The steps down into this cafe must have led to a hotbed of activity around the early 60's. Not only a folk haven, but blues revival discoveries like Skip James played here. The steps on the left lead up to the Kettle of Fish bar. At least one person had their priorities set differently from the folks sitting on the stairs.
